{"id":4244,"date":"2023-03-18T13:08:40","date_gmt":"2023-03-18T12:08:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mosaic-modeling.de\/?page_id=4244"},"modified":"2024-01-09T10:16:33","modified_gmt":"2024-01-09T09:16:33","slug":"what-is-mosaicmodeling","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mosaic-modeling.de\/","title":{"rendered":"What is MOSAICmodeling?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MOSAICmodeling \u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>is a free, web-based environment for modeling, simulation, and optimization in process systems engineering;<\/li>\n<li>uses a LaTeX-style entry method to narrow the gap between documentation and computational description;<\/li>\n<li>allows the formulation of algebraic as well as ordinary and partial differential equations, which can the be combined to whole equation systems;<\/li>\n<li>combines several state-of-the-art techniques to support cooperation between different software infrastructures;<\/li>\n<li>provides code generation for the most common numeric environments, e.g., AMPL, GAMS, gPROMS, MATLAB, Python, and JULIA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The software offers two main advantages over using various tools for individual tasks (see Figure 1):<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Conventionally, there is a visual and conceptional gap between the documentation and the realization using a particular programming language. In MOSAICmodeling, you receive an easily readable representation of your model, which can then be exported to a program code of your preferred programming language;<\/li>\n<li>If you try to solve the same problem in several environments, it takes a long time to write and debug each model for each modeling environment.
